Experience visionary design at Villa St. Maxime, created by renowned architect Dominic Michaelis, a graduate of Cambridge University with an M.Sc. in Architecture and Municipal Engineering.

Michaelis founded a top consultancy firm specializing in solar structures and residences, earning him prestigious awards from RIBA, RICS, and CIBSE. His exceptional design for Villa St. Maxime continues to impress and inspire guests from all over the world.

Meet the visionary who changed the game in renewable energy with his patented concepts that harness the power of waves, sun, and offshore platforms. His achievements include wave energy converters that recover energy from seas and oceans using flexible membrane technology, an offshore platform that generates renewable energy, and a solar balloon that made history by crossing the English Channel. With a legacy that continues to inspire, his ideas are paving the way for a greener and more sustainable future.

Eco-friendly

Villa St. Maxime is a singular edifice that seamlessly blends stunning interior and exterior aesthetics with cutting-edge energy-efficient design. The visionary architect behind this masterpiece has harnessed every possible aspect of solar abundance and airflow engineering to create a space that's both beautiful and sustainable. From the retractable glass roof of the opening atrium to the skillfully positioned windows and doors that maximize energy assimilation in winter and coolly shade in summer, every feature of the Villa boasts maximum efficiency. And with summer evening sea breezes and morning land breezes further enhancing the natural flow of freshness throughout, guests can enjoy a truly invigorating experience that's both comfortable and environmentally responsible.

Design

Behold the awe-inspiring beauty of Villa St. Maxime, crafted entirely from rare limestone block sourced from the historic Les Baux-de-Provence. To ensure each stone was perfectly fitted and finished, the architectural team worked closely with expert stone cutters dispatched from Carrière Sarragan quarry. The result is a true masterpiece of artistry and craftsmanship, with each stone perfectly placed to enhance the structure's stunning impact. The depth of the limestone block, measuring an impressive 50cm, adds to the villa's solidity and stately presence, transporting guests to a world of refined luxury and natural beauty.

Luxury

Beyond the beauty that meets the eye, Villa St. Maxime boasts an unseen interior buttressing-wall that dramatically fortifies its structural integrity and ensures a congenial year-round environment. Guests can enjoy exceptional comfort in the villa's vast spaces thanks to the central climatization system, which utilizes alternate systems for maximum efficiency and comfort. Although the villa's natural passive energy system renders environmental systems superfluous throughout much of the year, guests can select the most efficient and comfortable mix to suit their preferences. With every detail carefully considered to ensure both comfort and sustainability, Villa St. Maxime offers a truly remarkable experience that's both inviting and environmentally conscious.

Contemporary

The combination of albinic limestone and sleek Carrara marble flooring throughout ensures a classical beauty sleekly framed in a bright, uncluttered ambience throughout.

Sadly, M. Michaelis passed away in 2015. Villa St. Maxime stands over the Cote d’Azur, peering resplendently out to sea, in quiet testament to his immense talent.
